Bali is not only about its white-sand beaches. Sunset on this island always has its own way of making people pause and take a picture. From limestone cliffs to terraced rice fields, here are the seven best places to enjoy the sunset.

1. Uluwatu Beach and Temple

Rocky cliffs jut out over the Indian Ocean, making the horizon feel incredibly wide. Arrive about two hours before sunset, then walk along the cliffside path while waiting for the sky to change color.

If you want a livelier experience, the Kecak dance performance at dusk is a popular choice. Set your schedule earlier so you do not get stuck in a queue.

2. Tanah Lot Beach

The temple standing on a rocky outcrop is a classic Bali icon. Waves crashing against the rock create beautiful white spray against the setting sun.

3. Tegallalang and the Ubud Area

Sunset in Ubud is gentler. Tall trees and stretches of terraced rice fields frame the orange light very calmly. Perfect for those who do not want to fight for a seat.

4. Jimbaran Beach

If you want dinner with your sunset, Jimbaran offers dining tables facing the sea. Come early, pick a seat closest to the water, then order fresh seafood.

5. Campuhan Ridge, Ubud

The footpath between two hills is easy to walk. From the top, you can see a mix of green valley and a sky that slowly shifts color.

6. Sanur Beach

Unlike most Bali beaches, Sanur faces east, making it ideal for sunrise. Its western side still offers a soft dusk, especially from the pier area.

7. Pandawa Beach

White cliffs on both sides of the road give it a dramatic feel. After descending to the shoreline, the wide area makes it comfortable to sit back and wait for dusk.

Arrive 60-90 minutes before sunset, wear comfortable footwear, and always bring drinking water.
